It is 3 miles West of the market town of Evesham and 12 miles south of the ancient city of Worcester. Access from the motorway network (M5, M42 or M40) is good. The village can be approached from the East via the A44 and the railway bridge of from the west via the B4048 over the river Avon at the Jubilee bridge. A little HistoryThis Wiki link will tell you something about Fladbury past and present. This link to the BBC website will give some infomation about Fladbury in WW2. Follow this link to hear an old recording about the village. Broadband AccessTelephone and broadband lines in Fladbury are fed from "Cropthorne exchange", which is actually in Fladbury! This was upgraded to provide broadband (ADSL) in 2004 and ADSL+ in 2006, but scored less than 8% in BT's survey so is unlikely to be upgraded to provide "superfast" fibre-based broadband any time soon. You can see details of Broadband and Cable Availability here. This site aims to hold, or link to, infomation that is relevant and useful to visitors or residents. If you have any feedback, comments or additions to the site please contact Andrew Jones (3 Sandys Close, Fladbury). |
